74 SA STYLE AUTUMN 2O18 / LIVING #INNOVATION / Tell me a bit about Luxe Style Co. Luxe Style Co. is now a little over two years old. My original vision was to create a boutique furniture and homewares store that allows you to relax, have a coffee and browse. I’m a lover of all things art, crafts and style and I found the inspiration to start my business after having my children, initially decorating my own home and then the homes of friends and family. How do you select your stock and stay ahead of the trends? I am constantly researching trends and styles overseas, and leading designers and artists here in Australia. I also love going to trade shows, lectures and workshops, and of course Pinterest and Instagram are a great source of inspiration too! What is Luxe Style Co’s point of difference? Luxe Style Co. is a collaborative of items I have sourced from local and international artisans, as well as my favourite designer pieces and my own branded furniture and accessories. These are pieces that you can’t find in mainstream stores. We also represent many great brands such as Globe West, Slim Aarons, HK Living, Armadillo & Co., Bonnie and Neil, Greenhouse Interiors, Linen House and more. DESIGN PROFILE: Kirsty Worthy Luxe Style Co. is home to a deliberate mix of designer brands, boutique furniture, and owner and interior designer Kirsty Worthy’s own line of furniture and accessories. Not sure where to start when it comes to styling your own home? No problem, this busy mum-of-two can help with that too. Tell us about your styling service. The styling service is a major part of our business and as part of this service we offer in depth consultations, detailed proposals and the peace of mind that we will be with you every step of the way, from paint selections through to purchasing furniture and materials. We provide stylish and practical products for all budgets. Why should people consider using the services of a professional stylist? Stylists have access to a lot of products that are not always available to general retailers, which is great for clients who want something unique like limited edition artwork or bespoke furniture. Other people just find it difficult to visualise a look themselves. We are an affordable home styling option – no hourly rate is charged, it’s just the one off call out fee! What interior items should people splurge on and what items can you afford to skimp on? Invest well in key items such as a rug, couch and artwork. I would suggest purchasing limited edition prints from artists when choosing artwork – it’s more affordable than original artwork but still more unique than mass produced prints. When choosing the right rug purchase something that looks and feels amazing and is good quality; we recommend Armadillo & Co. rugs. They not only look stylish but are natural and sustainable, 100 percent handmade and are socially responsible. What’s on your wish-list? A Nook sofa by Jardan Furniture and a breeze block wall by my pool... I love the 70’s Palm Springs look! 5 QUICK FIRE QUESTIONS BEST GIFT YOU EVER RECEIVED... my two babies! CAREER HIGHLIGHT SO FAR... being told by someone very well known in my industry that they like my work! WHAT DO YOU NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT... my phone. GO-TO ITEM IN YOUR WARDROBE... my Shona Joy party dress! MY PERSONAL STYLE IS... chic, modern and feminine.
